Message from the Chair
The past year has been one of genuine uncertainty. Inflationary pressures, shifting trade dynamics, and rapid change have tested non-profit organizations, governments, and businesses across Canada. In this context, staying focused and purposeful has mattered more than ever.
Against this backdrop, LearnSphere has not only held steady but continued to build on its foundations and grow its impact.
From a governance standpoint, the Board has been actively engaged throughout the year, with near 100% attendance across all meetings. This level of participation has enabled the thoughtful oversight and strategic guidance that this period called for.
The Board also advanced several priorities that will shape the organization’s future. We deepened our focus on emerging issues, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), examining both its implications and how it can be used responsibly in support of our mission. We also continued to advance our succession planning efforts, reinforcing our commitment to leadership continuity and long-term sustainability.
On the operational side, we closed the year in a strong financial position, with quality program delivery from our staff and Associates. Our reach has also grown, supporting clients not only across Canada but now in Africa, where we are contributing to inclusive development and cross-continental collaboration. The Board was pleased to see strong alignment between LearnSphere’s programming and key strategic economic priorities, including trade diversification and innovation. That alignment reinforces the relevance of our work in a rapidly changing environment.
It has been a successful year. We have strengthened our governance, sharpened our strategic focus, and continued to deliver where it matters. I am grateful to my fellow Board members, our leadership team, staff, Associates, and partners for their dedication throughout the year.

Chair of the Board
Message from the CEO
This past year brought real progress and continued impact across our projects and programs, even as the external environment grew more complex and unpredictable.
Demand for our training, advisory, and support services continues to grow as a result. The small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) at the heart of our mandate are feeling the effects of this environment acutely, as are the non-profits and community-serving organizations we work with. All of them are under increasing pressure to stay relevant and deliver results with limited resources. For concrete examples of how we have supported them in the past year, please refer to the Our Impact and Projects and Programs sections that follow.
LearnSphere is not immune to these same pressures. Rising costs and shifts in funder priorities have created a constrained and competitive landscape, reinforcing the need for careful resource management and strategic decision-making as we navigate the year ahead. We are responding by remaining agile, focused, and disciplined in how we operate, and by actively diversifying our funding sources.
One of the highlights of the past year was our return to international development. Though still early in our four-year project, we are encouraged by the progress already made in Cameroon and Senegal. This work reflects the strength of our business model, which allows us to mobilize expertise and resources in a coordinated way. We very much appreciate the contributions of the Associates, partners, team, and stakeholders who make it possible.
We enter the coming year from a position of strength. Our team is capable and committed, our Associates are ready for what lies ahead, and our impact continues to grow. Most importantly, our mission remains as relevant and necessary as ever.
I am grateful to everyone who has put their trust in LearnSphere. Together, we will meet this moment with focus and determination.

Our Impact
2025-2026

LearnSphere Cares
Organizations around the world are becoming increasingly aware of the need for, and benefits of, socially responsible behaviour. At LearnSphere, we believe it’s critical that we incorporate social responsibility and contributions to sustainable development in all aspects of our work.
We are therefore following the best practice recommendations provided by the International Organization for Standardization’s standard: ISO 26000.
ISO 26000 outlines seven key areas of ESG for organizations to pay attention to in order to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). LearnSphere has grouped the seven ISO categories into three priorities: People, Prosperity and Footprint.
By tracking our progress and implementing new goals over time, we aim to hold LearnSphere responsible for continuous improvement around our impacts on society and the environment.
Our accomplishments to date and new initiatives planned for 2026 – 2027 are outlined below.

Our Funding Partners
Our funding partners play a vital role in enabling our work. Their support has not only made our initiatives possible but has also allowed us to amplify our impact year after year, reaching more people and driving deeper, lasting change.
We would like to thank the many funders and partners we worked with in 2025-2026.
