Laura leads the newly-opened LearnSphere Nova Scotia office, our base for exploring new opportunities in Atlantic Canada. Having joined the LearnSphere team in 2010 to run our Training for the Non-Profit Sector (TNPS) program, she drew upon her project management and stakeholder engagement skills to grow this program from a pilot to one of our flagship offerings. Laura’s results-driven approach was also a perfect fit for the role of manager of our pan-Atlantic Commercialization Consulting & Mentoring (CCM) Program.
Engaging in both the non-profit and business sector comes naturally to Laura. Prior to joining LearnSphere, she worked for a New Brunswick Community Business Development Corporation (CBDC) and a non-governmental humanitarian organization in Rwanda. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University, with a joint honours in Business and Economics.
An avid traveller, Laura has worked, volunteered and traveled across North and South America, Africa and Asia. She is looking forward to the next adventure, exploring her new city of Halifax, and meeting Haligonians at the curling club and on the ultimate Frisbee pitch.
Little known fact about Laura:
Having grown up on a dairy farm in rural PEI, she could, at one point, give a cow a show-worthy haircut. Just don’t ask her to replicate those results on a non-bovine form.
