Annette Comeau is Chief Executive Officer of LearnSphere Canada and a member of the organization’s Board of Directors. As the founding CEO, she charted a unique path, taking the organization from start-up to leader in training and workforce development services. Annette has guided LearnSphere in providing innovative solutions to multi-faceted, complex problems in the area of training and skills development. Her work with LearnSphere has taken her to many countries around the world, including Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, Vietnam, France, Romania and the CARICOM countries.
To this day, one of Annette’s career highlights was a special invitation by then Secretary General of La Francophonie, Boutros Boutros-Ghali, to join him for a tête-à-tête in Paris to discuss international youth skills development. This topic that would later become the central theme for the Francophone Summit held in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Always curious and connected, Annette has held a number of volunteer positions with many organizations, including Governor of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC), Chair of the International Training and Education Committee of l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie headquartered in Paris, France, Chair of the Premier’s Roundtable on eNB and Innovation, and member of the Comité consultatif en Francophonie internationale et multilatérale. Annette has also served on several Boards of Directors, including those of the New Brunswick Information Technology Alliance, a New Brunswick Economic Development Agency, the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation. She started young; at the tender age of 25, Annette was named co-chair of a national committee mandated to create an industry-led, consumer sensitive rating program (Canada Select), which is still in place today.
Annette has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University. She lives in Fredericton with her partner Ian MacMillan, her stepson Connor and fond memories of their beloved corgi, Nigel. When she has spare time, she loves to run, play golf, cross-country ski and garden.
Little known fact about Annette:
Annette is an avid distance runner, having completed marathons in New York, Chicago and Paris (twice) and three half marathons in Toronto & Fredericton. She is also a closet artist with a few of her works proudly displayed by friends and family.
