25 Years Strong
In 1995, we set out with a goal that we didn’t yet know how to achieve – to create a collaborative business model that would bring together, under one brand, the capacity to deliver on large, impactful learning and development projects, both here at home and abroad.
We knew we were on to something when we were able to attract the most senior business leaders and government officials to the table. From there, LearnSphere was born.
Our founding members described a vision for success that brought the right people to the table to help us focus on how to make our organization self-sufficient and scalable. To tackle this fundamental issue head on, our founding Chair Barbara Stanley, formerly President of the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance, created a committee that she appropriately called “where the rubber hits the road.”
How to make LearnSphere self-sufficient and scalable became the singular goal for that group; something we all rallied around. It inspired the passion and innovative thinking necessary to get us where we needed to go, and eventually it transformed our entire business model into what we are today.
Along the way, we never lost sight of our purpose – helping organizations prosper – but this crucial exercise helped us to realize that the “how” was as equally important as the “what” if we wanted to succeed as an organization.
Twenty-five years later, we’re proud of our accomplishments and the impact we’ve had. None of it would have been possible without a lot of hard work, a dedicated team at the helm, support from our clients, the expertise of our Associates, and the guidance of our Board of Directors.
At LearnSphere, good governance has been pivotal to our success. We’ve always carefully selected people who would set the necessary conditions for a high-performance Board. This could not be truer than with our current Chair, Martin Haynes, ICD.D, who brings a wealth of corporate governance experience to the table.
“I’m proud to be part of the team that guides LearnSphere towards realizing its vision, mission and purpose,” explains Haynes. “The Board is made up of leaders who deeply understand the value of governance and its direct impact on LearnSphere’s success. The CEO and management team at LearnSphere also deserve special recognition for the vision and steady leadership they have brought to the organization during many years of considerable growth and transformation.”
So, as we recognize and celebrate our 25th anniversary, it’s important for us to reflect on the past, and more importantly, to focus on the future.
Our pledge to you – our clients, partners, stakeholders and Associates – is to take the best of what we’ve learned over the past 25 years and face the future head-on, embracing all of the possibilities it has to offer.
Here’s to the future.
