George Pérusse

George Pérusse became a mem­ber of the New Brunswick Judi­cia­ry at age 27. He retired on April 30, 2012 after a 35 year career on the bench. As a mem­ber of the judi­cia­ry, he held var­i­ous posi­tions with the Provin­cial Court Judges Asso­ci­a­tion of New Brunswick, name­ly edu­ca­tion chair­man, sec­re­tary-trea­sur­er and pres­i­dent. For a num­ber of years he also served at the nation­al lev­el as edu­ca­tion chair Atlantic with the Cana­di­an Asso­ci­a­tion of Provin­cial Court Judges. For 14 years he was a mem­ber of the New Brunswick Judi­cial Council.

M. Pérusse was the insti­ga­tor of a char­i­ta­ble Foun­da­tion (Les Oeu­vres de L’Hotel-Dieu de St-Basile) with the objec­tive of rais­ing one mil­lion dol­lars over 3 years.

He has over the past 20 years devel­oped an inter­est in plein-air paint­ing. As a land­scape artist he is always inspired by nature wher­ev­er he travels.

M. Pérusse is ful­ly bilin­gual, he holds a Bach­e­lor of Law (LLB) from the Uni­ver­si­ty of New Brunswick and a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence (B.Sc.) from St Fran­cis-Xavier University.

I joined the Board of Learn­Sphere because I like tak­ing on new chal­lenges. My skills in law and expe­ri­ence with Boards allow me to bring dif­fer­ent points of view to the table as an admin­is­tra­tive direc­tor on the Learn­Sphere Board.”
